Water-Towers is a maze of 69 towers that populate two sides of the cloistered walkway at Salisbury. Each tower is built from 216 illuminated water bottles, which change colour in synch with a musical score. When viewed from across the cloister the stone arches silholuette Water-Towers and create an animated facade something like a stained glass window.
Over the course of two weeks, Munro and his 10-strong team laced 69,000 meters of optic fibre through 15,000 bottles, which were supplied by Cott Beverages.
A total of 30 tons of water will be poured back into the ground around the Cathedral, when the installation is disbanded on 27th February 2011.
